MEET THE NEW IPAD 3 | APPLE UNVEIL A NEW IPAD 3

Apple launched its latest version of the iPad on Wednesday, armed with a Full HD display with 3.1 million pixels and a supercharged new processor.

The device will be available on March 16 and priced from $499-$829 - the same range as the iPad 2, which the technology giant launched a year ago.

The tablet will be powered by a super fast quad-core A5x chip, putting Apple's tablet ahead of competitors such as Samsung.

It will also offer a high speed 4G LTE network connection on both the AT&T and Verizon wireless networks

'Who will come out with a product that's more amazing than the iPad 2?' Apple CEO Tim Cook asked the audience at the San Francisco launch event. 'Stop wondering - we are'.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF NEW iPAD

Up close, the new HD screen is very impressive indeed - particularly with apps built to take advantage of it - such as the new version of sky watching app Star Walk which can show 300,000 stars on screen at once.

Even on the home screen, though, icons are stunningly crisp - and printed words in iBooks are so sharp it almost hurts to look at them.

With Full HD video, there's a cinematic feel like watching a big flatscreen TV set - except the screen is in your lap.

Photos really pop out of the screen - and even ones taken on the device's 5-megapixel camera are crisp enough to zoom right in.

Overall, the device doesn't feel a huge amount faster, though - the new processor clearly has its work cut out just keeping the screen going.

And despite Apple's boasts, the games still don't look a patch on titles on Xbox 360 or PC - but as developers get to grips with the new hardware, that will change.

The screen, a larger version of the screen in iPhone 4s, is sharper than most 40-inch HD televisions.

Apple claims that the screen resolution is so sharp words on screen are sharper than words in print.

Mr Cook said: 'We are taking it to a whole new level and are redefining the category that Apple created with the original iPad'.

The new iPad also offers a 5 megapixel iSight camera which can record video in full HD. 

Apple showed off new apps, including new versions of it's iWork apps such as iPhoto.

Many apps showed off the power of the new tablet - for instance editing 14 megapixel digital photos in full size on screen.

The processor is fast enough to handle a 3D game, Sky Gamblers, with 50 fighter planes battling on screen at once. 

A new version of the hit iPhone title Infinity Blade showed off graphics similar to Xbox 360 and PS3.

A fresh edition of the GarageBand music software lets four iPads 'jam' together via Wi-Fi. Also, a newer version of iMovie allows users to record and edit full HD movies right on the screen. 

The iPhoto app allows photo editing direct on screen, cropping pictures, editing lighting and adding effects such as red-eye reduction and black and White filters via the touchscreen.

The new iPad will be 9.4 millimeters thick, or 0.37 inches.

How to block your lost or stolen mobile handset using IMEI number



When you switch on our mobile phone, your mobile SIM card tries to connect with any available network. Once it finds a supported network it tries to build a network connection between your mobile handset and the nearest tower. During this connection negotiation, your SIM transfers some internal information to the network operator such as your mobile IMEI number, mobile model, version etc. This means your mobile operator keeps the record of your mobile handset number each time you try to switch on your mobile handset and use their service.

Now if you have lost your mobile handset or your phone has been stolen, you can contact your network provider to block your IMEI number. They might ask you to get a Police FIR copy first, do as they say and finally ask them to block your IMEI number. Mobile network providers use a shared hosting service for blocking IMEI numbers, which means if you have asked network ‘Airtel’ to block your mobile handset, it automatically gets blocked by network

Now when that thief will switch on your mobile handset, no service providers will allow it to build any connection with them. It does not matter if he changes the mobile SIM card, since SIM card requests for the service with IMEI number and a blocked IMEI number handset will be ignored and the mobile will become an useless toy.

If you know someone from any mobile network, you can also ask him to find out the mobile number that’s being used that IMEI number. In that way you will get the mobile number that thief is using on your handset

MEET THE LATEST NOKIA PHONE | NOKIA 808 PURVIEW

The Nokia 808 PureView uses a 41 MP sensor, which captures image data from seven adjacent pixels and condenses it into one, resulting in stills at around 5 MP resolution with amazing detail and low noise levels. The optics are Carl Zeiss and there's Xenon flash and a LED one acting as a video light.

Technically, the sensor is able to capture 3 MP, 5 MP, 8 MP, 38 MP at 4:3 aspect ratio and 2 MP, 5 MP [Default], 8 MP, 34 MP at 16:9.

Video recording goes as high as FullHD 1080p at 30 fps and there's also 720p@30fps. Video is H264 encoded and supports stereo sound. The large image sensor allows 4x zoom in 1080p and 6x in 720p.

The Nokia 808 PureView has a single-core 1.3 GHz processor and 512 MB of RAM and runs Symbian Belle. The display is a 16:9 4" AMOLED unit of nHD (640 x 360) resolution covered with curved Gorilla Glass.

There's NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, USB on the go and 16 GB of onboard storage.

The Nokia 808 PureView should be on the shelves around May 2012 and I wonder how much these will go for. I hope it wont be like Blackberry Porshe
