HOW TO WRITE A SEARCH ENGINE FRIENDLY ARTICLE

To be a successful bloggist, you must be able to write a search engine friendly article. This is one of the criteria a blog writer must pursue very well in order to stand out among the thousands of writings present in the internet. Careful attention must be paid to the contents of the article starting from the Head to the conclusions. Let us analyze how to write a search engine article:

This is the most important aspect of the article. It is the first impression a reader will get when entering your website. Remember the saying “the first impression makes the best impression”, you must arrange the title of your post in such a way that it is captivating to the audience or the reader.

Avoid impressing the search engines by repeating the keywords. Google and other Search Engines have a way of punishing writers or bloggers who does this. Make your Title short and precise. Remember boring title will make the writers leave your site without reading the post.

Another way to make a search engine friendly title is to check the pre-existent of the title. You don’t want to compete with the higher rank websites most especially, when you are new in this blogging world. Make your Title specific, special and concise. By doing this, search engines will highly favour you and thus increasing your page visibility and ranking.

This is another important part of the articles that must be properly arranged to enhance proper and highly effective visibility in the search engines. For your site or blog to be highly friendly with search engines, the contents of your blog must be rich in keywords. Keywords must be used accordingly. Higher keywords enhance visibility in the search engine results.
It is better to forget the keywords of the article and allow the writings to flow. Naturally, keywords will fall into place as you write.

After writing the whole article, another major step(s) that must be taken is to proof read the articles. Check for mistakes and correct them. The lesser the mistakes in your article, the higher the chance of advancing or improving in the search engine results. Correction of grammatical errors also makes your articles or blog more professional

Following the above steps will ensure that you are in the right track in writing a successful article.

Thanks so much for reading. Use the comment box and subscribe to have the latest post in your email.

INSERT READ MORE WITH THUMBNAIL AUTOMATICALLY IN YOUR BLOG

This is for the bloggist or blogger who need to insert jumpbreak or ‘read more’ to their blog automatically without going through the stress of inserting it manually through their blog post.

We all know that to make our blog very beautiful, we need to use jumpbreak in the Homepage of the blog. Jumpbreak or ‘Read More’ as it is most often called is a design allowing you to break your post, showing only the summarize version in the blog or website front page or homepage. This can be done through clicking on the jumpbreak icon on the blog edit page.

Inserting a ‘read more’ manually maybe a difficult task most especially when you have a large write up to do. Just follow the below steps to know how you can insert an automatic read more just the way you see in www.dekokoblog.com.ng

  1. Log into your Blogger account
  2. Click on your blog you need to design
  3. Click on Template, Back up your Template
  4. Edit HTML, Proceed and tick on Expand Template
  5. Search for </head> and add below code right after the line

<!-- Auto read more script Start -->
<script type='text/javascript'>
var thumbnail_mode = "yes"; //yes -with thumbnail, no -no thumbnail
summary_noimg = 430; //summary length when no image
summary_img = 340; //summary length when with image
img_thumb_height = 200;
img_thumb_width = 200;
</script>
<script type='text/javascript'>
//<![CDATA[
function removeHtmlTag(strx,chop){
        if(strx.indexOf("<")!=-1)
        {
               var s = strx.split("<");
               for(var i=0;i<s.length;i++){
                       if(s[i].indexOf(">")!=-1){
                               s[i] = s[i].substring(s[i].indexOf(">")+1,s[i].length);
                       }
               }
               strx =  s.join("");
        }
        chop = (chop < strx.length-1) ? chop : strx.length-2;
        while(strx.charAt(chop-1)!=' ' && strx.indexOf(' ',chop)!=-1) chop++;
        strx = strx.substring(0,chop-1);
        return strx+'...';
}

function createSummaryAndThumb(pID){
        var div = document.getElementById(pID);
        var imgtag = "";
        var img = div.getElementsByTagName("img");
        var summ = summary_noimg;
        if(thumbnail_mode == "yes") {
        if(img.length>=1) {
               imgtag = '<span style="float:left; padding:0px 10px 5px 0px;"><img src="'+img[0].src+'" width="'+img_thumb_width+'px" height="'+img_thumb_height+'px"/></span>';
               summ = summary_img;
        }
        }
        var summary = imgtag + '<div>' + removeHtmlTag(div.innerHTML,summ) + '</div>';
        div.innerHTML = summary;
}
//]]>
</script>
<!-- Auto read more script End -->

After that, find this line in your template code <data:post.body/>
Replace it with the code below

<!-- Auto read more Start -->
<!-- http://www.dekokoblog.com.ng -->
<b:if cond='data:blog.pageType == &quot;item&quot;'>
<data:post.body/>
<b:else/>
<b:if cond='data:blog.pageType == &quot;static_page&quot;'>
<data:post.body/>
<b:else/>
<div expr:id='&quot;summary&quot; + data:post.id'><data:post.body/></div>
<script type='text/javascript'> createSummaryAndThumb(&quot;summary<data:post.id/>&quot;);
</script>
<a class='more' expr:href='data:post.url'>Read more ...</a>
</b:if>
</b:if>
<!-- Auto read more End -->

You can now Save the Template.

You can customize your Templates by

thumbnail_mode –set to “yes” if you want to show thumbnail with text summary. Set to other than “yes” to show only text summary.

summary_img –specify the number of characters (including spaces) you want to show in the summary, with thumbnail.

summary_noimg –specify the number of characters (including spaces) you want to show in the summary, when there is no thumbnail.

img_thumb_height and img_thumb_width -specify the thumbnail height and width (in pixels).

It works for me, I hope it works for you.

Like our facebook page and also subscribe with your email so as not to miss anything.

Cheers

GOOGLE ANALYTICS | HOW TO CREATE AND INSTALL IT IN YOUR BLOG

Google analytic is a free google statistic tools that enable publisher or the bloggist to track, view, manage statistics of visitors in his website. It is the most widely used analyst because it tracks the referrals, be it from the search engines or other sites.

WHY DO YOU NEED GOOGLE ANALYTIC

It is the most widely used website statistics service, currently in use on around 57% of the 10,000 most popular websites. Another market share analysis claims that Google Analytics is used at around 49.95% of the top 1,000,000 websites. The number of people using this service cannot lie to you. It is definitely the best.

Google Analytic can track visitors from all referrers including search engines display advertising, pay-per-click networks, e-mail marketing and digital collateral such as links within PDF documents.

Integrated with AdWords, users can review online campaigns by tracking landing page quality and conversions (goals). Goals might include sales, lead generation, viewing a specific page, or downloading a particular file. These can also be monetized. By using GA, marketers can determine which ads are performing, and which are not, providing the information to optimize or cull campaigns.

GA's approach is to show high level dashboard-type data for the casual user, and more in-depth data further into the report set. Through the use of GA analysis, poor performing pages can be identified using techniques such as funnel visualization, where visitors came from (referrers), how long they stayed and their geographical position. It also provides more advanced features, including custom visitor segmentation.

HOW TO USE AND INSERT GOOGLE ANALYTIC IN YOUR BLOG

I) Creating an account with Google Analytics

Go to Google Analytics, click the Sign-Up Now link on top right corner of the page and sign in to your Google Account.

On the next page click the Sign up button.

Next supply all the necessary details -account name, blog URL you wish to track, time zone, data sharing preferences, and your country or territory.

Read the terms of service and tick the “Yes, I agree to the above terms and conditions” checkbox.

Click Create Account button and you’ll be taken to Tracking Code Configuration tab.

The next step is to find the Web Property ID (a.k.a UA number) -a unique ID given to the account you just created. Disregard all other items in this tab, the only thing you need is the UA number.
Copy the UA number as you’ll need to paste it later on.

II) Installing Google Analytics on your blog

This is a two-step process. First you need to register the Web Property ID with Blogger, and then import the tracking code into your template.

Adding Google Analytics ID to your blog

If you are using the new Blogger interface, click the dropdown menu next to the name of the blog you wish to track and navigate to Settings > Other > Google Analytics. (For old interface, go to Settings > Basic > Google Analytics Web Property ID).
Paste in the UA number into the Google Analytics Web Property ID text box.
Click Save Settings.

Adding your tracking code

The following <include> tag will import your GA tracking code into your blog:

<b:include name='google-analytics' data='blog'/>

If you are using a latest Layout or Dynamic Views template from Template Designer gallery, you can skip the following steps because it already has the<include> tag built-in. The same applies to mobile templates.

But if you are using an older Layout template or a third party template you might need to add it into your template manually. Here’s how:
Go to Template > Edit HTML (for old interface it’s Design > Edit HTML) and locate the </body> tag.
Insert the code right above the tag (if the code isn’t already there).
Save your template.

It could take 24 hours before your first data to appear in your account. This is because Google Analytics updates reports every 24 hours. Come back to Google Analytics Dashboard the next day and if everything is in order you will see your stats!
